Hubert Franklin Oakley
MEBANE — Hubert Franklin Oakley, 88, of 200 E. Brown St., died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Caswell County, he was retired from White’s Furniture Company with 37 years service. He was a member of Mebane Gospel Chapel and a very devoted husband and loving father.
Survivors include his wife, Earline Hamlett Oakley of the home; daughters, Carol O. Willis of Mebane, Evon G. Oakley of the home, Debbie O. McGuire and husband, Bobby, of Elon and Terry Miles and husband, Royce, of Mebane; sons, Kenneth F. Oakley and wife, Lynn, of Graham and Ronald D. "Duck" Oakley and wife, Angela, of Mebane; grandchildren, Jeff Willis, Michael Wayne Oakley, Mickey E. Oakley, David Daniel Oakley, Samuel Dean Oakley, Gary Dwayne Webster, Brandi Rene Miles and Shea Marie Miles; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Edwards of Reidsville and Katie Sue Hunt of Haw River.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Oakley and Elizabeth Blalock Oakley; a granddaughter, Penny Willis; a sister, Alice Aldridge; brothers, John Oakley, William Oakley, Alonza Oakley, Clarence Oakley, Robert Oakley, Walter Oakley, Roy Oakley, Warren Oakley, Ireland Oakley, Floyd Oakley and Edgar Oakley.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at McClure Funeral Chapel in Mebane with the Rev. Robert Suitt officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening. Other times they will be at the residence.
