Earline Hamlett Oakley
MEBANE — Earline Hamlett Oakley, 87, of 200 East Brown Street died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Caswell County, retired from the textile industry, and a member of Mebane Gospel Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex Daniel Hamlett Sr. and Lizzie Winstead Hamlett; husband, Hubert Franklin Oakley; and granddaughter, Penny Willis.
She is survived by her children, Carol Willis of Mebane, Kenneth F. Oakley (Lynn) of Graham, Evon Oakley of the home, Ronald “Duck” Oakley (Angie) of Mebane, Debbie McGuire (Bobby) of Elon and Terry Miles (Royce) of Mebane; brothers, Jim Hamlett of Kernersville and Berk Hamlett of Burlington; sister, Mary Lois Prather of Danville, Va.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one greatgreat-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by Alan Jones. Burial will follow in Oakwood
Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 p.m. before the service.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Virgie Jaylah and the other members of the Hospice staff for the care and compassion shown to Mrs. Oakley.
