Cynthia J. Shields
   MEBANE — Cynthia J. Shields, 53, of 2510 Saddle Club Road, Mebane, died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Hospice Home in Burlington.

   She was a native of Alamance County and a PACU Nurse at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. She also was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Graham.

   Survivors include husband, Ronnie Shields, of the home; stepson, Lucas J. and Lauren Shields, of Mebane; stepgranddaughter, Lundyn Shields, of Mebane; mother, Cleo R. Thompson, of Burlington; sisters, Jo Ann Rich and Janice J. Johnson, both of Burlington; and brother, Robbie C. Johnson Jr., of Burlington.

   She was preceded in death by father, Robert Curtis Johnson Sr. and sister, Judith J. Oakley.

   The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Graham with the Rev. Norman Fargis officiating. Burial will be held in Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane.

   The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane on Sunday evening from 6 to 8, other times at her residence and the residence of her Mother, 2349 Timber Trail, Burlington, NC.

   Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance/Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
