Peggy Burke Baldwin
May 20, 1931 — January 24, 2024

Burlington – Peggy Burke Baldwin, 92, was taken to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.  

She was born in Alamance County to the late Jay Hugh and Florence Foushee Burke. She was the wife of the late Gaston Solomon “G.S.” Baldwin, Jr.
 
Peggy was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church.  She was employed in her early years with Western Electric but spent the majority of her life raising her three sons.  She loved helping people and was known for her hospitality. Peggy was an excellent cook, sharing food with anyone who stopped by to visit even provided refreshments to the sanitation workers on their weekly stops at her home. When her sons were growing up, she encouraged them in sports by heading up the booster club at their schools and practicing various sports with them. Peggy was a second mom to her siblings and looked after her mom till she died. She spent time with people one on one helping them in their daily lives. She was a servant of Jesus and her family and friends could testify of her walk. 
 
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Garry Baldwin and his wife, Cheryl of Wake Forest, NC, Steven Baldwin of Davidson, NC and Jeff Baldwin and wife, Casey of Burlington, NC; grandchildren, Jacqueline Black, Elizabeth Roorda and husband, Christopher, Jason Baldwin and wife, Abby, Jeremiah Baldwin and wife, Meghan, Anna Grace Baldwin, Caleb Baldwin and wife, Caitlyn, Alex Baldwin and wife, Kelsey, and Tori Baldwin; nine great grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Georgia Baldwin of Burlington; sisters, Barbara Burke of Burlington, NC and Linda Touchton of Clemmons, NC.
 
The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Garry Baldwin and Rev. Garry Gates.   A private Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 AM on Saturday prior to the service.
