Fletcher Jackson
Fletcher Ivey Jackson, 85, of 2714 Lilac St., Burlington, died this morning in the Memorial Hospital of Alamance County following six months illness.
A native of Person County, he was the son of the late Billy and Zilphaie Terrell Jackson and the husband of Addie Terrell Jackson of the home, who survives. A member of the Kerr's Chapel Baptist Church, he was a retired carpenter.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kerr's Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Hedrick assisted by the Rev. Clarence C. Vaughn, pastor of the Glen Hope Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Webster of Rt. 5, Mebane, Mrs. Nellie Patterson of Graham, Mrs. Nannie May Rudd of Santa Monica, Calif.; three sons, Andrew Jackson, Albert Jackson, and Dan Jackson all of Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Annie Parker of Denton; one brother, Weldon Jackson of Denton; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 9.
