William  Devoy "Dee" Terrell 
    CLEVELAND, Tenn. — William  Devoy "Dee" Terrell , 89, a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005.
    He was born Sept. 18, 1916 in Burlington, N.C., and moved to Cleveland in 1957 with Burlington Mills. He was employed with Burlington for more than 40 years, where he developed many of their machines, namely the machine that makes seamless hosiery. After retiring, many will remember him for delivering "Meals on Wheels" to the shut-ins and repairing antique clocks and lamps. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Pearl Virginia Phillips Terrell ; his parents, Johnny and Ester Jackson Terrell ; and brothers, Earl Terrell , Thomas Terrell , and Ervin Terrell .
    He is survived by one son, William  Devoy "Don" Terrell  Jr. of Cleveland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Roy Kyle of Cleveland and Hilda and David Andrews of Morristown; grandchildren, Karen Kyle of Cleveland, Eric and Rachel Beck of Santa Rosa, Calif., David Brandon and Micca Terrell  of Chapmansboro, and Bethany Andrews of Morristown; four great-grandchildren, Miranda and Max Trew of Cleveland and Judah and Aidan Beck of Santa Rosa, Calif.; three brothers, John Henry Terrell  of Haw River, Joe Terrell  of Mebane, and Herbert Terrell  of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.
    The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, with interment following in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
    His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
    His family requests that memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 7669, Atlanta, Ga. 30357-0669, or to First Baptist Church, 99 Central Ave., Cleveland, Tenn. 37311.
