JOHN OSCAR TERRELL
EFLAND--John Oscar Terrell, 78, of Rt.1, Efland, died Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock in a Chapel Hill hospital following five years of failing health and two weeks critical illness.
A native of Caswell County, he had resided inth Efland area for 25 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of Glencoe Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late John and Ida Rudd Terrell.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Esther Jackson Terrell of the home; six sons, Devoy Terrell of Cleveland, Tenn., Earl Terrell of Burlington, Henry Terrell of Elon College, Joe Terrell of Mebane, Ervin Terrell of Rt. 1, Efland, and Herbert Terrell of Charlotte; and two sisters, Mrs. F.I. Jackson and Mrs. Nannie Terrell, both of Burlington.
Final rites will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Willard Vincent, pastor of Efland Baptist Church, and the Rev. Carl Gibbs, a former pastor.
Burial will be in Kerr's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body will remain at the funeral home through the service. T
he family will receive friends there tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock.
