Raleigh McKinney 


    BURLINGTON — Mr. Raleigh McKinney , 91, of 2010 Holland Avenue, Burlington, died at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell on Friday, April 7, 2006 at 1:40 a.m. following four months illness.
    A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of the late Jennie Bett "Betty" Rudd McKinney , and the son of John Allen McKinney  and Minnie Alice Rudd McKinney , both deceased. He retired from Tower Hosiery. He was a member of Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church for 48 years.
    Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jo Ann King and husband, Alvis Jr., of Burlington and Mrs. Betty Jean Walker and husband, Joe, of Elon; two grandchildren, Mr. Chris Walker and wife, Diana, and Mr. Jason King and wife, Stefanie; two greatgrandchildren, Savannah Walker and Jennie Walker; one sister, Mrs. Pauline M. Murray of Burlington; and two brothers, Mr. Hassell McKinney  and Mr. Malloy McKinney , both of Burlington.
    He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Eva M. Smith and Mrs. Beulah M. Rudd; and two brothers, Mr. Luther McKinney  and Mr. Virgil McKinney .
    The funeral will be conducted at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church on Sunday, April 9, 2006 at 4 p.m. by Elder Wallis Smith, and Elder Harold Pittman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 4 to 6 this evening and at other times they will be at the residence. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
