 BURLINGTON — Mr. Harold D. Rudd, 70, of 2624 Saunders Road, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the Hospice Home in Burlington after a lengthy illness.
 
 A native of Caswell County, Mr. Rudd was the husband of 50 years to Joyce Stainback Rudd, who survives, and the son of the late Thomas Jefferson Rudd and the late Esther Apple Rudd.
 
 Mr. Rudd retired from Rudd’s Dry Wall and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Mr. Rudd was an avid gardener and nature lover. He was known throughout his community as a friend to all.
 
 In addition to his wife, Joyce, of the home, Mr. Rudd is survived by his son, Adam H. Rudd (Brittney) of Burlington; daughter, Shawn Rudd of the home; three brothers, Arthur Rudd (Brenda), Jeffrey Rudd (Linda) and Ricky Rudd; six sisters, including his twin, Hazel Jefferson (William), Patricia Norris, Anita Walker, Melody Jenkins (Fred), Belinda Jones and Estherene Wilson (Buster); dog, Spot; and granddog, Bolt.
 
 He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Rudd; brother, Billy L. Rudd; and sister, Sonya Rudd.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at 1 p.m. by Elder Ray King and Elder Harold Pittman. Burial will follow in Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
 
 The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
 
 Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
 
 The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Alamance Cancer Center, especially Dr. Choksi, his nurses and staff.
