Mrs. Alma Frances Loftis
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Alma Frances Loftis , 80, of Burlington, died Thursday, January 24, 2008, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Andrew Lewis Loftis and the daughter of the late Walter William Mansfield and the late Myrtle Perry Mansfield. Mrs. Loftis was a former employee of Burlington Mills. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Senior Sunday school class.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Norma Cozart and her husband, Wade, of Burlington, Mrs. Ruby Tingen and her husband, Jimmie, of Burlington; her son, Walter Lewis Loftis and his special friend, Steven Douglas Price, of Burlington; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Alma Loftis Barber; and two brothers, David Earl Mansfield and Willard Mansfield.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington, Saturday, January 26, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m., and at other times they will be at the residence of her daughter Norma Cozart, 2058 Stoney Creek Church Road, Burlington, N.C.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2008, at the Bethel United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Rene Burnett. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Loftis loved her church dearly and the family requests that memorials be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 1421 Bethel Methodist Church Road, Burlington, N.C. 27217.
