Mrs. Alma Loftis Barber
HAW RIVER — Mrs. Alma Loftis Barber , 63, of Green Forest Mobile Home Park, 3574 South N.C. Hwy. 119, died at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 27, 2007, at 5:45 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Raymond Paul Barber Sr. and the daughter of the late Andrew Lewis Loftis and Frances Mansfield Loftis , who survives. She was a retired textile employee and was most recently employed at Burger King in Graham. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband.
In addition to her mother, survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Page and husband, Dean of Alamance and Myrtle Daye and husband, Tobaris of Haw River; two sons, Raymond Paul Barber Jr. of Burlington and Paul Barber of Burlington; two sisters, Norma Cozart and husband, Wade and Ruby Tingen and husband, Jimmie, both of Burlington; one brother, Walter Loftis of Burlington; six grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and two special friends, Brandy Howard and husband, Roger Page and Ronnie Ford.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Mike Hurt. Burial will follow the service in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
