GRAHAM — Viola Carroll Madren , 92, of 6002 Rumley Road, died September 24, 2007.
Survivors include a daughter, Hazel Ray and husband, Willard of Mebane; grandchildren, Junior Ray and wife, Brenda of Mebane, Norma Newton and husband, John of Alamance, Tammy Pike and husband, Jim and Barry "Buck" Madren , all of Graham, Tina Doby and husband, Mark of Whitsett, and the Rev. Bryant Madren and wife, Leslie of Tobaccoville, N.C.; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas Carroll and Martha Hensley Carroll ; her husband, Everett Kimes "EK" Madren ; a son, Bobby Madren and daughterin-law, Loreane Madren ; and a daughter, Judy Garland Madren ; brothers, Hassel Carroll , Sterling Carroll , Oza Carroll , Henry Carroll and Ed Carroll ; and sisters, Mary C. Jeffries and Nannie C. Stutts.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007, at Saxapahaw Evangelical Friends Church by the Rev. Stephen Hall. Burial will follow the service at Moore’s Chapel cemetery.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 27, and at other times at the residence, 6002 Rumley Road, Graham, N.C. 27253.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Saxapahaw Evangelical Friends Church, P.O. Box 1031 Graham, N.C. 27253; or to Eastside Baptist Church, 333 Supper Club Road, Mebane, N.C. 27302.
