Lois T. Simpson

BROWNS SUMMIT - Lois Troutman Simpson, 92, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Hospice Home in Burlington.

A native of Rockingham County, she was the wife of the late Fred Webb, who was killed during WWII, and the late Nathan McCray Simpson and the daughter of the late John and Eunice Brown Troutman.

She was a member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church and the Gold Star Wives' Association.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl S. Madren and husband Larry of Browns Summit; son, Nathan Simpson, Jr., and wife Kay of Reidsville; grandchildren, Catherine Suzanne Simpson of Mebane, Jonathan David Madren and wife Jessica of Houston, TX, and Seth Michael Madren and wife Jillann of Cary; great grandchildren, Ivy, Victor, James and Iris Madren; sisters-in-law, Iris Simpson Workman, Betty Van Simpson Boone, Alice Bradshaw Simpson and Peggy Simpson Foster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother, Ralph Troutman, infant daughter, Suzanne Simpson and infant son, John Boyd Simpson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Rev. C. Allen Myers, III and Rev. Larry Gray.

Interment will follow in Apple's Chapel Church cemetery. Mrs. Simpson will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service.

The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday and following the service in the choir room of the church.
At other times the family will receive friends at the home of Cheryl Madren, 7474 NC 61 North, Browns Summit.
