BURLINGTON — Mary Madren Melton, 86, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Alamance County to the late Almond Augusta Madren and Esther Tate Madren and was married to the late Robert Leonard “Bob” Melton, Sr. who died in 2013.
Mary started her career as an Occupational Health Nurse with Cone Mills in Haw River then retired from Kayser-Roth. She was a member of Union Ridge Church and the Angie Crews Circle.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia M. “Cindy” and Keith Brady, Denise M. and Victor Tripp; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Leonard, Jr. “Bobby” and JoAnne Melton and granddaughter, Casey Ann Melton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Kitty Madren, Albert and Catherine Madren; sister, Elizabeth Madren Cobb. She was preceded in death by her husband,
parents and brotherin-law, J.T. Cobb. The memorial service will be held at 5:30 pm Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. James Rosser. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
