Luther Boyd “Bubba” Madren, 77, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Becky Bowman Madren, who survives and the son of Garland F. Madren and Thelma Dimont Madren Danieley, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from Culp Industries. Boyd was a member of Lamb’s Chapel.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include four children, Jonathan S. Madren (Lisa) of Durham, Carman Franklin Oakley (David) of Burlington, Michael T. Madren of Burlington; and Patricia “Tricia” Ellen Franklin (Brandon Thomas) of Burlington; four grandchildren, Jordan Shipp Madren, Sarah Nicole Oakley, McIver Oakley, and Jessica Dickerson; brother, Fred Monroe Madren (Judy); and a very special niece, Cheryl Williams (Chris). He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Allen Madren.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Temple Jarrell with the family receiving friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
