Thelma Madren Danieley

   BURLINGTON — Mrs. Thelma Madren Danieley, 90, formerly of Robinhood Drive, Burlington, died at Liberty Commons on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 5 p.m.

   A native of Camp Springs, N.C., she was the wife of the late Garland F. Madren and the late Grant Asa Danieley and the daughter of Charlie Ed Dimont and Frances Ada Brown Dimont, both deceased. She retired from Cone Mills in Gibsonville. Thelma was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church where she was a member of the Ever Ready Sunday School Class and the Share and Care Club.

   Survivors include two sons, Fred Monroe Madren and wife Judy of Elon and Luther Boyd “Pete” Madren and wife Becky of Burlington; six grandchildren, Cheryl, Eddie, Freddie, Nikki, Johnathan and Michael; two stepgrandchildren, Carman and Patricia; numerous great-grandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Sheila Madren Bodsford; and her special dog, Tadpole.

   She was preceded in death by a son, Edward Allen Madren; two brothers, Richard Roy Dimont and John Sydney Dimont; and sister, Juanita Haizlip.

   The funeral service will be conducted at Bethlehem Christian

   Church on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Dave Gilbert and the Rev. Fred “Freddie” Madren, with the family receiving friends at the church from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

   Memorials may be made to the Bryan Alzheimer’s Disease Research, c/o Duke University, Offi ce of Gift Records, 2200 West Main Street, Suite A230, Durham, NC 27705.

   Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
