Mrs. Marie Kernodle Garrison 


    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Marie Kernodle Garrison , 86, of 3619 South Mebane Street, Burlington, and formerly of 612 N.C. 87 North, Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 11:25 p.m.
    A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Herbert Lindsay Garrison , and the daughter of Robert Elmore Kernodle  and Lemma Ross Kernodle , both deceased. She retired from Carolina Biological Supply after 25 years of service. She was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church and the Boone Women’s Extension Club. She was a loving mother and devoted wife, who loved gardening and cooking for her family.
    Survivors include one son, Herbert Myron Garrison  and wife, Becky, of Madison; two daughters, Pamela Teresa Garrison  and husband, Ray Starling, of Kailua, Hawaii and Iris G. Johnson and husband, Ronnie, of Burlington; five grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; and one greatgreat-grandchild.
    She was preceded in death by one sister, Verna Kernodle Grant.
    The funeral will be conducted at Bethlehem Christian Church on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Roger Barefoot. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state at 2:30 p.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will follow the service in Stony Creek Presbyterian Church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends after the committal service in Stony Creek Fellowship Hall.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
