Wallace Berry Williams Sr.
GIBSONVILLE — Wallace Berry Williams Sr., 67, of Frieden Church Road, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Wesley Long Community Hospital in Greensboro.
He was born in Alamance County and was the son of the late Susie L. Williams. Wallace was the owner and operator of Williams Medical Equipment and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Tabasco Masonic Lodge #271 A.F.&A.M. and the VFW Post #2972, both in Gibsonville.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Ward Williams of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Wally and Penny Williams Jr. and Rex and Margie Williams, all of Gibsonville; grandchildren and spouses, Pam and William Harrell, Alex W. Coleman, Angel and Kris Collins, all of Burlington, Amy and Rickey Thompson and Patrick Sean Henry, all of Atlantic Beach; eight great-grandchildren; nephew and spouse, Robert "Bobby" and Deborah Williams of Currituck; niece, Betty Stafford of Burlington; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Albert Ward of Gibsonville; and his business family, the Williams Medical Equipment employees.
He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, William Lacy Williams; and a nephew, Barry Williams.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jack Lemons, with Masonic Graveside Rites and Military Honors to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the home.
