R. E. McIntyre
ELON COLLEGE - Russell Ervin McIntyre Sr., 59, of 204 Woodale Dr. died at 11 o'clock Saturday night at a Greensboro hospital after a critical illness of six weeks.
A native of Alamance County and a long-time employe of the Burlington Post Office, he was a maintenance engineer for Guilford County at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Archie and Martha Taylor McIntyre.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nannie Perryman McIntyre; two daughters, Mrs. Vernon Garrison of the home and Mrs. e. C. Durham Jr. of Burlington; two sons, Russell MCIntyre Jr. of rt. 4, Burlington, and Billie B. McIntyre of El Cajon, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Wyrick of Greensboro, Mrs. W. H. Wells of Carteret, N.J., and Mrs. Bill Barbee of Rt. 4, Burlington; three brother, John McIntyre of Perth Amboy, N. J., Ralph McIntyre of Greensboro and C. R. McIntyre of Burlington; and nine greandchildren.
Final rites will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington, conducted by by Rev. W. T. Cockman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Eleon College, assisted by Rev. K. M. Misenheimer, pastor of Westview Presbyterian Church of Burlington. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Edwin Hill, Kenneth McIntyre, James Mitchell, Robert Wyrick.
The family will recieve friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock.
