Alma McIntyre Hooper
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Alma McIntyre Hooper, 89, of 10812 N.C. 62 South, Burlington, died at Liberty Commons Nursing Center on Monday, February 23, 2009 after several years of declining health.
A native of Bertie County, she was the wife of C. Woodrow Hooper, who survives and the daughter of Edward McIntyre and Bertie Apple McIntyre, both deceased. She was formerly employed at Tower Hosiery and Western Electric Company. She was a member of Bethel Christian Church in Caswell County and a former member of the Homemakers Extension Club of Caswell County.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Barber and Evelene Robertson and one brother, Joe McIntyre.
The funeral service will be conducted at Bethel Christian Church on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Barry Lane and Dr. Wally Snyder. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
