BURLINGTON — Mrs. Helen York Kimbro, 93, of North Main Street, Burlington, passed away at the Hospice Home on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Charlie Banks Kimbro Sr. and the daughter of Fred Wellons York and Saphronia Randolph York, both deceased. She was a beautician for over 50 years and a member of the Alamance Business Women’s Club. Helen was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Senior Choir and the Gold Star Class.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia K. Mc-Intyre and husband M. Ray and Glenda K. Lowe and late husband Fred, all of Graham; two sons, C. B. Kimbro Jr. and wife Joan of Elon and Mark Douglas Kimbro and wife Mary Ann of Alamance; sister, Doris Longest of Elon; brother, Ray “Jack” York of Florida; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and several stepbrothers and stepsisters.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Vance York, Wade York, Bobby York, Elton York and Giles York; and two sisters, Elsie Lowe and Nadine York.
The funeral service will be conducted
at Glen Hope Baptist Church on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Larry Redding. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service to lie in state.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Blakey Hall for the special care given to Helen during her three years of living at the facility and also for the kindnesses shown to her at Edgewood Place.
