OBITUARIES Mrs. Doris Price Parsons

GRAHAM —Mrs. Doris Price Parsons , 67, of 116 Solar View Trail, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 11:10 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2005 at the Hospice Home in Burlington.

Her peaceful acceptance to Heaven occurred in the presence of all her family, friends, Hospice staff and the gracious Rev. Randy Hobbs.

Doris  spent her life in Caswell and Alamance County touching the lives of all she encountered. The daughter of the late Johnnie Issac and Pear Davis Terrell , she was one of thirteen children.

Doris  was preceded in death by four brothers; Hassle "Son" Terrell , Lee Terrell , Tom Terrell , David Terrell , and three sisters; Laura "Sister" Edwards, Marlene "Myrtle" Peters and Ruby Jenkins.

Her first husband, the late Fred Price  Sr. passed away in January, 1973.

Doris  was retired from working in textiles, and known as the "first biscuit maker" of Hardee’s restaurants. Doris  was a four decade member of New Hope Baptist Church in Burlington where she humbly served the church in every capacity asked of her. From custodian to school teacher, member of multiple committees to her many years of being proud to represent God as a choir member; serving God and her church was her passion.

Survivors include her devoted, beloved companion of 25 years, Charles Parsons ; two sons, Charles "Dale" Parsons  and his wife Rita of Elon and Fred Price , Jr. and his wife Lisa of Mebane; seven joyful grandchildren that filled her heart, Nicholas Parsons , Michelle Burnett, Mathew Parsons , Hannah Price , Harrison Price , Chapel Price  and Corey Price ; loving sisters at her side, Louise Simmons of Burlington and Jeannette Short of London, Kentucky; caring brothers, Harold Terrell  of Burlington, Brodie Terrell  and Clyde Terrell  both of Caswell County. Many dearly loved nieces and nephews who helped provide a lifetime of family memories; and the tender Barbara Terrell , a sister in marriage.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Doris  will be held on Monday, January 10, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 1525 Flora Ave., Burlington, by Rev. Randy Hobbs and Rev. Frank Gribble. The burial will follow at the Alamance Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m. today at Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington and other times at the residence.

Although flowers are welcome, the family wishes to express their gratitude and encourage memorials to the Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, N.C. 27215 for their virtuous care and compassion. 3, Mrs. Doris Price Parsons
