Mr. Richard P. Aldridge, 80, of 2014 Rascoe Dameron Road, Burlington died at his residence Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 7:17 a.m. following six months of failing health. A native of Caswell County, he was married for 60 years to Leona Page Aldridge, who survives. He was the son of William Henry Aldridge and Nannie Mae Page Aldridge, both deceased, and was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was employed in the Textile industry for 30 years and for many years owned and operated his own TV repair business. Richard was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Caswell Ward where he taught Sunday School and served in various leadership roles. He was also an avid genealogist.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Deanna Ouzts (Kevin) of Burlington, Denise Lewis (Robert) of Gibsonville, Dedra Malcolm (Darrell) of Burlington and Anthony Aldridge (Elena) of Burlington; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one brother, Everette Aldridge (Bertella) of American Fork, Utah; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harris Aldridge.
The funeral service was conducted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Caswell Ward on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. by Bishop Trey Millner. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times they were at the residence.
