Mrs. Ruby Lee Hough Loy
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Ruby Lee Hough Loy, 63, of 237 S. Gurney Street, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Although she struggled with the debilitating effects of diabetes the last few years of her life, she will always be remembered for her cheerful and positive attitude. She was a retired employee of Financial First Federal Savings Bank and was a Charter Member of Faith Bible Chapel where she sang in the church choir and formerly taught children in Sunday School.
She was born on June 2, 1938 in Greensboro, N.C. to the late Joel Clarence Hough and the late Alma Lee Snipes Hough. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Martin Leon "Buck" Loy, Sr. of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Martin Leon" Marty" Loy, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Loy of Apex, N.C.; two grandsons, Brandon Martin Loy and Cameron Bennett Loy; and a brother and sister-in-law, Frank Hadley Hough and Sylvia Lea Hough of Greensboro, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Joel Clarence Hough, Jr. and Elton Baxter Hough.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Robertson. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
