Julia Davis Oakley
July 23, 1927 ~ September 11, 2022 (age 95)

Julia Davis Oakley, also known as “Aunt Julia or MawMaw”, 95, formerly of Yanceyville went to meet our Heavenly Father Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Compass Healthcare and Rehab in Mebane.

A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Obie Wyatt Oakley and the daughter of John Will Davis and Mary Alice Coleman Davis, both deceased. Julia was also preceded in death by her first two husbands J.D. Wade and Robert McKinney.

Julia retired from Tower Hosiery and was a member of Union Ridge Church.

She is survived by her very special grandchild, Will Britton White and several loving nieces and nephews. Julia was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Hardy and five brothers, Clifton Davis, James Monroe Davis, Aaron Davis, Oscar Davis, and Robert Davis.

The funeral service will be held at Union Ridge Church on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 12:00 pm with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Union Ridge Church cemetery. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall following the interment         .

“Aunt Julia” struggled with vision loss for many years.  Because of the services for the blind, she was able to live at home independently.  We ask that you consider supporting this service in lieu of flowers.  Memorials may be made to North Carolina Division of Services for the Blind and in the “memo” section, please indicate ILS

Memorials can be mailed to: Carl Privette, 2801 MSC, Raleigh, NC 27699.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Paulett Watkins, Brenda Jones, Vicky Flood, Brenda Beam and all of HomeCare Providers for the many years of loving care that was provided.  We would also like to thank the loving team at Compass Healthcare in Mebane and those at Brookdale in Burlington.  Additionally, a special thank you to Asia and Julie, her Authoracare Palliative care team.

“Aunt Julia” was known for her acts of kindness and to honor her, we ask that you consider a random act of kindness for someone else.

Condolences may be offered online at www.richandthompson.com.
