GREENSBORO - Mr. Roy D. Kernodle passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at his residence. A Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, July, 2, 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Church. A private family graveside will follow in the Lowes United Methodist Church Cemetery in Reidsville, NC.
Mr. Kernodle was born in Brown Summit, NC, the son of Henry A. and Mary Ingold Kernodle. He served in the US Army during WW II. He graduated in 1972 from the UNC-Chapel Hill REALTOR Institute. He worked with Seawell Gallery of Homes as Vice President/Sales from 1971 to 1984 and then with his own company, Sigmon & Kernodle Realtors until retirement. He was a member of Trinity Church, Chairman of the Board and held other leadership positions. Mr. Kernodle was also active in other civic and community organizations.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Nadine C. Kernodle ; daughter, Beth Nelda Pearce and husband James and son, Seth Ethan Kernodle and wife Ruth Elizabeth, all of Greensboro, NC. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jennifer and Katie; brother, Otis Kernodle and wife Dot and sister Lynette Robertson, all of Greensboro, NC. Lucy, his "special friend" also survives.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Church, 5200 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27410
