George Claude “Buzzy” Brooks
 

 BURLINGTON — Mr. George Claude “Buzzy” Brooks, 68, died Friday, June 10, 2016, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
 
 A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Robert Louis Brooks and Sadie Faye Moser Brooks, both deceased. He retired from Lucent Technologies and was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church.
 
 Survivors include a sister, Cynthia Brooks Foust and her special friend Allen Roney, of Burlington; six brothers, Mike Brooks and wife Shelia of Burlington, Kenneth G. Brooks and wife Phyllis of Burlington, Richard Barry “Dickie” Brooks and wife Milagros of Spain, Teddy V. Brooks and wife Vickie of Burlington, Jeffrey F. Brooks and wife Sherry of Snow Camp, and Timothy R. Brooks and wife Debbie of Burlington; friend and caretaker, Cindy Hornaday; a sister-in-law, Denise Cheek; and many nieces and nephews.
 
 He was preceded in death by a brother, Benny T. Brooks.
 
 A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, in the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington with the Rev. Farron Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
 
 Memorials may be made to the Bellemont United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 4039 Markwood Drive, Burlington, NC 27215.
