Sadie Moser Brooks
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Sadie Moser Brooks, 93, of 4249 Robert L. Brooks Lane, died at the residence Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at 8:03 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Robert Louis Brooks and the daughter of Claude E. Moser and Ella Isley Moser, both deceased. She was formerly employed with Standard Hosiery Mills and worked part time with Brooks Poultry. Sadie was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church, the Senior Citizens Club, the “Get Acquainted Club” and the “Fellowship Club.”
Survivors include a special friend of 29 years, Bob Roberts; daughter, Cynthia Brooks Foust and special friend Allen Roney of Burlington; sons, Mike Brooks and wife Shelia and Kenneth G. Brooks and wife Phyllis, all of Burlington, Richard Barry “Dickie” Brooks and wife Milagros of Spain, George Claude Brooks and Teddy V. Brooks and wife Vickie, all of Burlington, Jeffrey F. Brooks and wife Sherry of Snow Camp, Timothy R. Brooks and wife Debbie and Benny T. Brooks, all of Burlington; 26 grandchildren; 28 greatgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild expected to be born in a couple of months.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nannie M. Curtis and Madeline M. Jones; four brothers, Duncan Moser, Hartsell
Moser, Troy Moser and the Rev. R.E.L. Moser; son-in-law, Larry James Foust; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Farron Duncan, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Belmont Baptist Church cemetery. At other times they will be at the residence.
In lieu of fl owers, memorials may be made to the Hospice League of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
