H. Grady Michael, 87, of R. 1, Linwood, died Sunday afternoon at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem after an illness of 10 days.
The funeral will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday at Tyro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Benny T. Myers officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Michael, who was born in Davidson County in 1891, was a retired brickmason. He was a charter member of Tyro United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Masonic Lodge 473 AF & AM. He was twice married, first to Beulah Shoaf Michael, who died in 1955.
Surviving are his second wife, Mrs. Lettie Shoaf Leonard Michael of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Dean) Beck and Mrs. Maurice (Pat) Rogers, both of R. 1, Linwood; two sons, Malbourne G. Michael of Trion, Ga., and H. Tommy Michael of Linwood; one stepson, Robert L. Leonard, Jr. of Lexington; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Louise L. Short of Charlotte; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Sam Michael and Robert Michael, both of High Point, Bill Michael of Winston-Salem and Coy Michael of R. 1, Linwood; and five sisters, Mrs. Ora Wilson, Mrs. Ruby Shoaf, both of R. 1, Linwood, Mrs. Juanita Walser of R. 5, Mrs. Lura Kennerly of High Point and Mrs. Bunt Whicker of Kernersville.
