Cornelia Fostine Sink was the eldest of eldest of three known children of Joseph Adam Sink (c1827-1864) (died during Civil War) and his first wife, Mary Ann Hedrick Sink (c1833-1857) who married 12 Aug 1851 at Davidson County, North Carolina. After Mary died, Joseph remarried to the widow Isabella Elizabeth Eddinger Conrad (1829-1915) in 1858, but had no known additional children.
Cornelia married Daniel Monroe Michael (1848-1942) on 21 May 1871 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Cornelia and Daniel were the parents of nine known children, namely:
