Agnes Marie Hardy McKinney
   SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. — Agnes Marie Hardy McKinney, 90, formerly of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 after several months of failing health.

   She was born in Surry County to the late Saun and Mollie Brown Hardy and was married to the late John Aubrey McKinney. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, the Ever Ready Sunday School Class and the Ladies Fellowship and she also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

   She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Jim) Gokenbach of Simpsonville, S.C.; son, James “Jimmy” (Cheryl) McKinney of Burlington; grandchildren, Josh Cecil and Kendall McKinney; and “grand dog,” Nikki.

   She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, BerthaWood; and brothers, Claude Hardy and Thurman Hardy.

   The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. Dave Gilbert, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

   The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 Saturday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the son’s home, Jimmy McKinney, 510 Willie Pace Road, Burlington.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Christian Church, 3625 Altamahaw Church Street, Elon, NC 27244 or to Interim Healthcare Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301.
