Onslow  Osborne Thompson  Jr. "Double O"

    GRAHAM — Mr. Onslow  Osborne Thompson  Jr., 81, of South Main Street, Graham, went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2006.

Mr. Thompson  was born September 22, 1924, to the late Mattie Crawford Thompson  and Onslow  Osborne Thompson  Sr.

Over the years he was a motor coach driver for Carolina Trailways and truck driver for Burlington Industries. After retirement, he became a household repairman and replacement window installer. Mr. Thompson  was a Mason and a member of Gideon International. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.

    He was married on June 6, 1942 to Frankie Wrenn Thompson , who survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Mr. Mike Thompson  and wife, Carol, of Gibsonville and the Rev. Ozzie Thompson  and wife, Barbara, of Burlington; two grandchildren, Crystal Cole and husband, Tommy, of Pleasant Garden and Jeff Thompson  and wife, Tonya, of Graham; four great-grandchildren, Alex, Bethany, Chelsea, and Jeremy; one brother, Edmund L. "Toot" Thompson and wife, Eleanor, of Graham; and one sister, Linda Thompson  of Graham.

    The funeral will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Stephenson, and the Rev. Curtis Oakley. Interment will follow at the Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery in Snow Camp with the Rev. Don Pegg officiating.

    Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Rich & Thompson  Funeral Home of Graham, and at other times at the residence.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Riverside Baptist Church, 1568 East Harden Street, Graham, N.C. 27253. The family wishes to thank the staff at White Oak for their kindness and tender care during "OO’s" illness.
