Evelyn Mae Lamm

Evelyn Mae Barber Lamm, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County on January 14, 1938 to the late Garland Boyd Barber, Sr. and Alese Naomi Johnson Barber and was the wife of 60 years to the late William Robert Lamm.
 
Mae was a lifetime member of Brightwood Christian Church and retired from Glen Raven Mills after 35 years of service.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, traveling and spending time with her family.
 
She is survived by her children, Eva Harrell (John), Alton Lamm, Jeanette Lamm (Gaire Greer), Debbie Alcon (Jackie) and David Lamm (Pamela); twenty three grandchildren, sixty two great grandchildren and thirty great great grandchildren; sister, Debbie Page and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; son, Garland Lamm, granddaughter, Christina Mae Lamm; grandsons, Christopher Wayne Lamm and David Alcon; daughters-in-law, Marilyn Lamm and Mary Lamm; brothers, J.W. Johnson, Junior Barber, Larry Barber, Alton Barber and a sister, Judy Barber. 
 
A service to celebrate Mae’s life will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Brightwood Christian Church by Pastor Ricky Cox with the burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:45 prior to the service at the church and other times at 264 Brightwood Church Rd.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Collective (Hospice) of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
