William Otis Stanley
   BURLINGTON — William Otis Stanley, 89, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at his home.

   He was born in Caswell County to the late David and Myrtle Page Stanley, was a loving husband of 61 years to the late Pansy H. Stanley and was a loving father and grandfather. He retired from Collins and Aikman, was a member of Pleasant View Assembly of God in Reidsville, a mechanic and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

   He is survived by his daughters, Wanda Reyes of Burlington, JoAnn Chambers and husband Joel of Elon, Theresa Jordan of Burlington; sons, Terry Mitchell and wife Michelle of Elon, Todd Mitchell and wife Paula of Snow Camp; grandchildren, Monica Mitchell, Tiffany Johnson and husband Daniel, Toby Winn, Wendy Winn, Jodi Tomes, Alex Stanley and Jimmy Golden and wife Leigh; great-grandchildren, Phillip Leigh Jr., Hally Hazelwood, Conner Mabry, Ally Mabry, Ethan Johnson, Dustin Stinson, Dalton Mitchell, Jacob Mitchell, Ashley Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, Camren Tomes, Korey Crisp, Christopher Golden, Chase Golden, April Joyce, Casey Joyce, T.J. Winn, Sean Winn, Phillip Winn and Jamie Winn; fi ve sisters; and one brother.

   He was preceded in death by his wife; parents;

   two sisters and one brother.

   The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at Pleasant View Assembly of God by the Rev. Gary Loftis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

   The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home.

   The family would like to say “Thank You” to Amedisys Hospice and to the special caregivers, Charmette Stokes and Kerri Holt for all the compassion they showed to Mr. Stanley.
