Mr. Robert W. "Billy" Tew


    BURLINGTON — Mr. Robert W. "Billy" Tew, 74, of 2115 Hatchery Road, passed away at 9:05 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Wesley Long Community Hospital in Greensboro following two years declining health.
    A native of Alamance County, he was son of the late Raymond F. Tew and Doris Hill Tew Moore. He retired from textile management and had traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
    Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Kay Tew of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; a son, Raymond Paul Tew and wife, Rita, of Alpharetta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Paul, John and Charlie; and a sister, Barbara Whitesell of Elon.
    Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 2, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington with the Rev. Joseph L. Godwin officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday prior to the service and other times at 2515 Saddle Club Road, Burlington.
