Carl Freeland Simpson, 90, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 21, 2024. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Euliss Ervin and Mary “Sadie” Ross Simpson and was married to Ruby Pickrell Simpson, who passed in 2014.
Carl retired from Burlington Industries and was a former member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he worshiped for many years. He enjoyed spending time in his garden and then sharing the fruits of his labors for others to enjoy.
Carl is survived by his two sons; Ronald Simpson and Donald Simpson and his wife, Juliana.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Simpson, daughter; Linda Rivers, parents; Euliss and Sadie Simpson as well as his siblings; Pansy Mansfield, Lula Mae Kernodle and Lester Simpson.
A funeral service to celebrate Carl’s life will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, July 26, 2024 in the chapel at Lowe Funeral Home by Rev. Laura Dunlap with the burial to follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in memory of Carl to the Cemetery Fund at Bethel Memorial Cemetery; 4137 Burch Bridge Rd., Burlington, NC 27217.
