OBITUARIES Mrs. Deloris Ann Lassiter Porter
GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Deloris Ann Lassiter Porter , 64, of 6622 Frieden’s Church Road, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at her home after several months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred David Lassiter Sr. and the late Swannie King Lassiter . She was employed with Five Points Grocery and Grill and was an avid reader and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Porter is survived by two daughters, Ms. Sarah Jean Carter Boggs of the home and Mrs. Connie Porter Wade and her husband, Douglas, of Asheboro; a son, Colon Albert Porter of Mebane; an adopted son, Ricky Lassiter of Burlington; three grandchildren, Christopher Sheets, Anthony Ray Sheets, and Jason Michael Boggs; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Lane Boggs and Noah Alexander Boggs; three sisters, Mary Bowman of Burlington, Betty Lou Cranford of Whitsett, and Carolyn Greer of Myrtle Beach; five brothers, Alfred Lassiter Jr., John Lassiter , Hal Lassiter , Curry Lee Lassiter , and Hulon Lassiter , all of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Sarah Jane Lassiter , Christine Rudd, and Mattie May Self.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2005 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Reid Dickens. Interment will follow at McCray Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home, and other times at the home.
