Burlington – Mr. Hulon Albert “H.A.” Lassiter, 76, of 1919 Barbee Street, Burlington died at his residence on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10:25 a.m. following several years of failing health.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Jody Lynn Boswell Lassiter and the son of Alfred David Lassiter, Sr. and Swannie King Lassiter, both deceased. He was owner and operator of H. A. Lassiter & Sons. H.A. attended McCray’s Primitive Baptist Church. He was an avid fan of stock car racing and loved gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Shatterly and husband Raymond of Graham and Nikki Laster and husband Timmy of Graham; three sons, Terry Albert Lassiter, Timothy Scott Lassiter and C. Zane Lassiter, all of Burlington; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Cranford and Carolyn Greer; brother, Currie Lee Lassiter; and his fur companion, Bootlegger.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Hite Lassiter, four sisters and three brothers.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, May 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. by with the family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in McCray’s Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Other times they will be at the residence.
