May 9, 1945 ~ March 27, 2022 (age 76)
Bob Stewart, 76, of Elon passed away at AuthoraCare Hospice Home on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 3:20 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 53 years to June Holmes Stewart, who survives and the son of John Harvey Reid Stewart and Angie Mansfield Stewart, both deceased. He spent 25 years of his career as a salesman for Kingsdown. Bob was a member of the Thomas M. Holt Masonic Lodge for 48 years, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Amran Shrine Club, and Durham Rifle and Pistol Club where he had great memories and fun. He was also a devoted member of People’s Memorial Church until his stroke.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, James Christian Reid Stewart and wife Heather Herrick Stewart of Morganton; two grandchildren, Robert Benjamin Reid Stewart and Graham Nicholas Reid Stewart, both of Boone; brother, John Christian Reid Stewart and wife Edith of Greensboro; and many loved and cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Barrett.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. John Shields and Rev. Tommy Dolinger with the family receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. A Masonic graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery, directed by Brother Tom Dolinger.
