Obituary Online notes for “Ricky” Richard Earl BURNS
Mr. Richard E. Burns, 50, of 2805 Trail 6, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at his residence, after five months of declining health and three weeks of critical illness.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Burlington Assembly of God, conducted by the Rev. Howard Thompson, pastor of Burlington Assembly of God.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Richard T. Burns and Mrs. Florence Burns Wilkins, who survives. He was a U.S. Marines veteran.

Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Florence Burns Wilkins of the home; daughter, Miss Everly Susanne Burns of Burlington; sister, Mrs. Lynn Burns Rudd of Graham; brother, Mr. William "Bill" Burns of Greensboro; one grandchild; and former wife, Mrs. Susan Burns Sullivan.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary, Burlington. Other times, they will be at the residence. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon following the memorial service in the fellowship hall of the church.
