Mr. James A. Richardson, 89, of Burlington passed away at the Hospice Home on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:37 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 58 years to the late Esther Sharpe Richardson and the son of Arthur Wilbert Richardson and Ethel Bray Richardson, both deceased. Mr. Richardson was a 32 year member of the National Guard and National Guard Reserves. He retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as an insurance agent. James was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church and the Mountain View Ruritan Club. He attended Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Sue Snyder and husband Steve of Columbia, TN and Paula Annett Izaquirre and husband Horacio of Islamarada, FL; two sons, Ronald Reid Richardson and wife Juanita of Bear Creek, NC and James Richardson and wife Evelyn of Rougemont; brother, Ralph Richardson of Snow Camp; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be conducted at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Steve Loy and Rev. Keith Porter with the family receiving friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Hermon Memorial Association, c/o Sara Phillips, 3908 Mt. Hermon Rock Creek Rd., Graham, NC 27253.
