Mr. Millard Lee Crouse


    BURLINGTON — Mr. Millard Lee Crouse, 84, of 2832 Bellemont-Alamance Road, Burlington, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 1:36 a.m. at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Margaret Loy Crouse and son of the late Joseph Max Crouse and Fairy Graves Crouse. He was a retired Land Development Manager with Westminster Company and a lifelong farmer. A veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, he served in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany and received eight Bronze Service Stars. He was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church and a Charter Member of the E.M. Holt Volunteer Fire Department serving as First Assistant Chief for over 20 years.
    Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Dianne Kinney and husband, Tommy, of Greensboro; two sons, Mr. Barry Crouse and wife, Terri, and Mr. T.L. Crouse and wife, Gail, both of Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Martha Massey Swinney and husband, Al, of Burlington; five grandchildren, Susan Kinney, Stephanie Marotz, Emily Wells, Leanne Crouse and Max Crouse; and one greatgranddaughter, Kelli Marotz. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Vera Johnson.
    Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Alamance Lutheran Church with the Rev. James D. Lockley officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, and other times at the residence. The body will be placed in the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
