Martha Crouse Massey (Swinney)


BURLINGTON – Mrs. Martha Crouse Massey (Swinney), 90, of Burlington, passed away at Coble Creek Healthcare Center at Twin Lakes on Sunday, March 12, 2017.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Raymond W. Massey, and daughter of the late Joseph Max Crouse and Fairy Elizabeth Graves Crouse.

She was a retired Business Partner in Raymond Massey CPA as well as a full-time Mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Martha was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church and the Shallowford Squares. She was a graduate of Burlington Business College.
Surviving are a son, Phil Massey and wife Cindy of Raleigh; daughter Janet Stuart and husband Steve of Burlington; five grandchildren, Allen Stuart and fiancé Katharine, Kevin Stuart and wife Kelly, and Brad Stuart and wife Jessie all of Burlington, Megan Massey and John of California, and Joseph Massey and wife Brittany of Raleigh; and three greatgrandchildren Carter Chloe and Kane.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Friends are welcome to come by the funeral home Tuesday afternoon until 8 p.m. to pay their respects and sign the register.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Twin Lakes and Hospice for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
