Sandra May Moore
July 13, 1942 ~ July 25, 2024 (age 82)

Sandra May Moore, 82 of Kirkpatrick Road passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family after battling with dementia on Thursday, July 25th at the Hospice Home of Alamance.

A native of Alamance County, Sandra was born on July 13th, 1942 and is the daughter of the late Kenneth and Georgia May and the wife of the late Charlie Monroe "Buddy" Moore.

With a love for gardening and a faithful follower of Christ, she lived what can only be described as a full and loved life. A 1960 graduate of Walter Williams High School, Sandra and Buddy were married in September of 1961 and raised two sons together. In previous years, Sandra was an active member at St. Mark's Church and she had a gift of taking care of children within the nursery. She was retired from McPherson’s Hardware which she and her husband owned until its closure in 2008. Preceding that, she worked for Kayser-Roth as a Keypunch Operator. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being there for others and loved Elvis Presley music. There was seldom a day where she wasn't smiling or laughing and she always knew how to make you smile and laugh in return… her smile was always contagious.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Moore and wife Lynn and Neil Moore; grandsons, Jacob Moore, Patrick Moore, and Christopher Moore and wife Seraphina; three great grandchildren Brayleigh and Sophie Shaw and Robbie Bowman; two siblings, Ken May and wife Kay and Geraldine Madsion as well as several nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Beverly Shaw (Moore) and her daughter-in-law, Tonya Moore.

The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, July 29th at 2pm in the Rich & Thompson chapel in Burlington officiated by Rev. Robert M. Disher Jr. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington from 12:30pm - 1:45pm prior to the service. When not at the funeral home, the family will be at Sandra’s residence.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Shirley Proctor and Authora Care of Alamance for their kindhearted help to Sandra in the months and days prior to her passing.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Authora Care of Alamance. 261, Sandra May Moore
