BURLINGTON - Dennis (Don) DevonMcKee passed away peacefully at his home with his wife, son and beloved dog, Lizzy, by his side on the morning of June 11, 2021.
He was the son of the late Grady Lillington McKee and Nannie Katie RichmondMcKee. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Deane Wright McKee. His son Dennis (Brad) Braden McKee (Heather) of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter Addison McKee of Atlanta, GA; sisters: Sheila Neapolitan and Patricia Adair of Burlington.
Don was born in Burlington, NC on July 14, 1945. He was a graduate ofWalterWilliamsHigh School and received an associate degree in Business Administration from ACC. He served as a marine engineer in the United States Army from 1968 until 1972 and retired fromCummings Atlantic after over 40 years of service.
Don was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed walks with his wife and dog and kept busy around the house with various projects, vegetable gardening and grilling. He had a love of antique British sports cars that included both restoring and driving.
His memorial service will be at 2pm on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington conducted by Rev. Gail Smith. The family will receive friends beginning at 1pm.
The family would like to express their appreciation to ChisholmHeating& Air for their outstanding service. A special thank you to AuthoraCare Collective Hospice for going out of their way to make the family feel comfort and support each visit.
