Mr George Elmo Newman, Jr
November 20, 1927 ~ July 19, 2022 (age 94)
George Elmo Newman, Jr., 94, of Mebane passed away at AuthoraCare Hospice Home on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
A native of Mebane, NC, he was the husband of the late Nettie Mae Rudd Newman and the son of George Elmo Newman and Eula Holt Newman, both deceased. He was a retired licensed funeral director and a member of Carr United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Mildred Baldwin of Burlington; two granddaughters, Cynthia Sternberg and Jessica May; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane T. May and brother, Richard Newman.
A graveside service will be conducted at Old Oakwood Cemetery, Mebane, NC on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Byrd officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice Home, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or a charity of your choice. 261
