Jo Ann Mitchell Brafford Witherow
GRAHAM – Jo Ann Mitchell Brafford Witherow, 82, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born January 18, 1937 in Leaksville (Eden), North Carolina to Rufus Johnson and Irene Ellington Mitchell. She was married to Ronald Lee Brafford for 16 years and then to Dillard Mack Witherow for 50 years. She worked at Kayser Roth and was a dog groomer for years. She was a member of Christian Bible Fellowship. She enjoyed flowers and taking care of her yard and known to everyone as Maw Maw. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Maw Maw will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, LeeAnn (Mike) Brumble, Tim (Linda) Witherow, Patty (Bill) Sprague, Joel (Shannon) Witherow, Joseph (Elizabeth) Witherow; grandchildren, Laurin (James) Underwood, Justin Brumble and fiancé Amanda Parleir, Heather (Isaac) Fahnrich, Bekah (Caleb) Frye, Catherine Witherow, Jacob Dietrich, Sydney Dietrich, Megan Webb and five great grandchildren and her special fur child Lucy. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands and her parents.
The family would like to thank caregiver Denise Edwards, Stephanie and the care team at the Hospice Home of Alamance/ Caswell.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 8 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory from 6 pm - 8 pm and at other times at the home of Tim Witherow.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 9 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Randy Kidd and Pastor Bruce Readling. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
