Elgin F. Jefferson


    YANCEYVILLE — Mr. Elgin F. Jefferson, 73, of 181 Staley Boswell Road, Yanceyville, died at his residence on Wednesday, July 2, 2008.
    A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of Melinda C. Jefferson, who survives, and the son of Fuller Jefferson and Minnie Lee Parrish Jefferson, both deceased. He was the owner of Jefferson Care Homes. He attended Trinity Worship Center and was an avid gardener and outdoorsman.
    In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Donna J. Lewis and husband, Roger, of Elon, Mrs. LaWanda J. Ray and husband, Mark and Mrs. Anita J. Jones and husband, Cory, all of Yanceyville; five grandchildren, Justin Lewis, Brandi Ray, Taylor Jones, Aaron "Bubba" Jones and Nicholas Ray; a special nephew, Mr. Dale Terry and wife, Vickie; a godchild, Kristina Terry; three brothers, Mr. J.T. Jefferson, Mr. Thomas Jefferson and Mr. Harold Jefferson; a sister, Mrs. Susie Garner; an aunt, Mrs. Reba Dixon; and his special pet, Peanut.
    The funeral will be conducted at Trinity Worship Center on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Darrell Cox and Dr. James Gardner. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m., and at other times they will be at the residence at 1413 Briarcliff Road, Burlington, N.C.
