W. S. Colwell Is Claimed By Death

ELON COLLEGE - Woodson Samuel Colwell, 47, of 202 W. Haggard Ave. died unexpected early this morning at his home

A native of Lufkin, Tex., was the son of the late Sam and Mary Elizabeth Smith Colwell.

He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and was owner and operator of Colwell Electric and Lighting Co in Burlington.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Violet Childress Colwell of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Judy Biggerstaff of Raleigh; one son Richard Colwell of Elon college; one brother, M. H. Colwell of Houston, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Holden Mrs. Annie Summers and Mrs. Lassie Shaddock, all of Lufkin Tex.; and one grandson.

Final rites will be held-Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Trinity Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Worth Watts, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will following Magnolia Cemetery in Elon College.

The body will remain at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday night from 7 to 9 o'clock.
