A native of Charlotte, N.C., she was born January 14, 1970, to Ronald Hal Propst and Madge King Propst (now deceased). She married Richard Lewis Matkins on April 3, 2004. Margaret was recognized last spring for a decade of leadership and service to Youth and Government by the YMCA of the Triangle.
Margaret’s love, enthusiasm, and generosity reached far and wide, particularly among young people. When she was not teaching, motivating, and inspiring students in and out of the classroom, Margaret impacted many as camp counselor and summer swim coach.
